Prosenjit Chatterjee has acted in more than 300 Bengali feature films till date as hero for the past 30 years. After his debut in his father’s film, ‘Chhoto Jiggasha’, he has played the protagonist in several movies. He has shared screen space with senior artists like Asit Baran, Rabin Majumdar, Uttam Kumar, Robi Ghosh. Often declared as one-man industry, the actor has a record of 22 releases in a single year. His film, ‘Chokher Bali’ was screened at Cannes and he is best known for his key roles in movies like ‘Autograph’ and ‘Moner Manush’. He launched ZEE Bangla channel at Calcutta in the year 1994 on behalf of Zee Network at a time when there was not even a single Bengali satellite channel existing except Doordarshan. It was a major success. He continued his work for ZEE till the Channel opened its own office in Kolkata.
