Sholapith Crafts

Sholapith Crafts are made from the sponge-wood cortex of a plant called Sola, generally found in the marshy waterlogged areas. Quite similar to artificially-prepared thermocol in appearance, it is used to make decorative items such as ornate head-gears and garlands, miniature sculptures and also for some of the finest idols during Durga Puja. Reach out to your inner sculptor at the Sholapith Crafts Workshop (Bhirbhum, Bengal) by the Shilp Guru & National Award winning artist, Ananta Malakar at Arth – A Culture Fest 2020.
